Scholars Forum Awards
Individual awards are given to both Undergraduate and Graduate students
IUP Libraries’ Research Award: dedicated to providing researchers with the resources, spaces, and services necessary to enable them to carry out high-quality research and inquiry. The IUP Libraries' Awards for Undergraduate and Graduate Research were created to recognize excellence in scholarly work based on a foundation of careful background research and literature review in projects submitted to the Scholars Forum.
Excellence in Data Analysis Award: Sponsored by the Applied Research Lab, this award recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional data analysis skills in their poster presentations. This award has an undergraduate and graduate tier. Judges will give special attention and preference to posters with completed results or findings. Results or findings will be judged based on organization, clarity, and the appropriateness of the analytical technique(s) used. Graduate students are additionally judged on their presentation of how their results or findings contribute to the scholarly literature.
Women in STEM Award: Sponsored by the Kopchick College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, this award celebrates high-level research projects conducted by at least one author who identifies as a woman in a STEM field. This award is given at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
S-COAM Computational Excellence Award: Awarded for computational excellence in research and presentation at the IUP Scholars Forum
Dean’s Award: Awarded to the highest-scored presentation in the college at both the undergraduate and graduate level. This award recognizes the highest level of excellence.
Outstanding Poster Award: Awarded to a top-scoring research poster in recognition of excellence. This award is given at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
Outstanding Podium Presentation Award: Awarded to a top-scoring podium presentation in recognition of excellence. This award is given at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
